The pulses of light from the Palomar Stalux G-Lux laser specifically targets undesirable lesions, while the fractional resurfacing technology of the improves skin texture by reducing fine lines, wrinkles and even moderate acne scarring. Gradually the skin conditions fade away, revealing a more youthful, uniform complexion.

What is a Photorejuvenation treatment like?
The laser handpiece glides across the skin, comfortably cooling it. It takes about 30 minutes to treat your face. Photorejuvenation also can be performed on necks, chests, shoulders, arms and hands where sun damage produces brown spots.

Is it painful?
Because we use our custom formulated topical anesthetic cream, TripleCaine, and chill your skin, you will probably only feel a mild warm sensation with each laser pulse. TripleCaine should be applied sparingly to treated areas as directed, to small areas of the skin.

Is Photorejuvenation safe?
The Palomar StarLux is FDA-Approved safe for most skin shades. Additionally, we take total control of your skin with our physician and pharmacist approved Bio-Active Cosmeceuticals to minimize complications and optimize results. Our staff of licensed medical professionals is trained and supervised by a board certified surgeon, and member of the American Society of Laser Medicine and Surgery.

Do I need recovery time?
Unlike laser resurfacing of the past, there’s no downtime. The appearance right after treatment is similar to what you will see after a brisk exercise workout. Depending on the components of your customized laser treatments, flushing and swelling may last for minutes to several days. Brown spots and uneven pigmentation will turn darker after treatment. Bronzing and a very fine grid of tiny white spots are common after the fractional laser resurfacing. These are temporary effects and will disappear over a two to four week period. Most patients can resume normal daily activities immediately, and we suggest a small amount of mineral make-up as desired.

However, with FlashFoto, it is important to remain indoors out of sunlight for 36 hours afterwards to prevent further activation of the Levulan. For one week after the treatment, clients may experience the following: redness, swelling and peeling. Please refer to our pre and post treatment instructions.

The redness and flaking will fade over the next few days revealing clearer skin.

Are there side effects?
It’s unlikely that you’ll develop any significant side effects. Temporary flushing and mild swelling is common. Rarely flaking, blistering, or pigmentation changes occur and these are usually temporary. You will notice more significant flaking or blistering with PDT treatments. Very rarely do pigmentation changes occur, those that do, usually resolve. Your consultation will include a more thorough information on potential side effects.

When will I start to see results?
Because 3T Photorejuvenation is non-ablative, patients begin to notice improvment after a few treatments to deliver incremental improvement in tone, texture and tightening. Nevertheless, many patients notice clearance of brown spots after just a few treatments, whereas textural improvements such as softening wrinkles or acne scars may take a few months to become noticeable.

With FlashFoto (PDT), most patients notice dramatic improvement two to three weeks after their first treatment. Most will need two or three treatments to obtain the results they desire.

How long do the effects last?
It is critical to use our physician and pharmacist approved Bio-Active Cosmeceuticals to maintain the investment you made in your skin, decreasing the need for laser touch-ups.
